I look for new ways to tell untold stories

The happily employed editor of a monthly B2B magazine, I’m seeking side freelance writing opportunities on the local and national levels.

I specialize in legal, scientific and investigative writing, but have covered topics as varied as the Thai sex trade, particle physics, coal power, crime, courts, education, politics, pollution, frogs, Oi! and lèse-majesté. I taught media ethics, data journalism and research methods at Loyola University Chicago from 2012 to 2015.

My professional interests include science writing with a focus on environmental justice, as well as research-oriented investigative work, process-oriented political coverage and alternative story forms. I’m interested in blurring the lines between performance and journalism, creating work that informs in unexpected ways.
